iPoDoc is an Applescript droplet that makes it easier to read long text documents on your iPod. Single iPod notes are limited to about 4K. However, notes can be linked, so a long document can be split into 4K chunks, and one can press the iPod center button to go to the linked note or press the Menu button to go to the previous note (or to the menu). One problem with the iPod Notes Reader is that if you've pressed the center button 100 times to get through a long linked document, then decided you want to play a certain music playlist, you have to press the Menu button 100 times just to get back to the menu! iPodDoc does some file organizing and linking to make this problem more manageable. Connect your iPod and drop a text document onto the iPodDoc icon. The file is split into chunks then copied to your iPod as linked notes. The notes are stored in sub-folders within a common folder. The notes and are grouped by tens, so you can read the contents of a sub folder, then press Menu no more than ten times to select the next sub-folder. For best results, make sure your document is plain-text, with returns at the end of paragraphs only.
