Are your MySQL servers local? Do you need to backup MySQL databases using ISAM tables once a day? Do you think CRON is overkill or to complicated for just a simple daily backup schedule? To save space do you wish your backups could recycle after a certain number of backups? Do you need the ability to backup only certain databases? How about receiving a status e-mail after every backup informing of success or unsuccess? Do want the ability to recover a single database out of a multi-database backup set? If you answered yes to any of the above questions then MySQLDailyBackupX is the tool for you. This tool is a GUI built-in RealBasic 5 that gives you a friendly interface to the MySQLdump binary. This friendly interface not only makes it easy to backup MySQL databases, but relays important information back to the administrator. Information like number of tables, rows, time to backup and estimated file size of the backup file. During both the backup and recovery process you can select which databases will be backed up or recovered. During the backup process MySQLDailyBackup uses the mysqldump --opt flag locking all tables within the current database being backed up. During the recovery process all necessary databases and tables will be created with out user intervention. Using the built-in timer your MySQL databases can be copied early in the morning when knowbody is using them. After every backup MySQLDailyBackup will send a status email containing the last backup log. Does not support INODB databases at this time. bzip2 not enabled at this time. Future versions will include the option of compressing on the fly or compressing after completion of backup. Compressing after backup will reduce the time the database is locked and unavailable. Remote backup is not supported at this time.
